In sports betting, there are going to be some times where you think you are on the right side, but luck jumps up and takes a winner down to being a loser. This was the case last week, when we thought we had pinned yet another winner in soccer. Unfortunately for us, bad luck can stop even the best of picks. In the Catania vs. Bologna game, we thought there would not be much scoring. With that in mind, we put out a pick of under 2.5. The January 18th match looked very good for us for a long while, with the game riding at a 1-1 tie for quite some time. Fate had it that a late goal would spoil all of the fun, though. In the 86th minute, a goal was scored to knock the pick on its belly and make the over 2.5 a winner. Though it looked so good for so long, the late defensive mishap cost our backers their stake in the game and reminded us all yet again that there are going to be some times when the result does not match the play on the field. We gave a pick on Zwolle in the Netherlands second division to take down rival Agovv. The pick was a straight bet on Zwolle to win, and for a while it looked as if it would come up a loser. Zwolle did not come out of the gates strong and although they were the superior team, they trailed the match 1-2 heading into the halftime break. Whatever was said at the break was stirring, though, as Zwolle stormed back to take control of the match. They did not waste much time in asserting their dominance, tying the match early on in the second half, before finally taking the lead. They held on to blank Agovv in the second half and win the match 3-2. Though it was not the easy, stress free type of victory that followers of our picks have grown accustomed to, it was a win just the same. Given the 3-2 win for Zwolle, everyone who played our pick and had money on that side came home a winner once again. Watching the second half, it was easy to see that they were the better team and the result carried that out.
